Nissan Skyline R33 GTS

1993-1998

R33

As with it's elder R32 sister, the R33 Skyline came in many guises and specifications varied wildly. There was even a five door version! The R33 is a heavier and slower car than the previous R32, and some maintain the R32 is still the best car for the track...nothing a few modifications and good technique won't sort!

Most commonly seen on the drifting track is the GTS. There were 2.0litre versions and non turbo versions which may be a little underpowered for the track. But most common is the 2.5 litre model.

The 2.5 litre RB25DET. While much slower than the renowned GT-R cariant with it's 2.6litre straight 6, is easily tunable to 400BHP, with some examples breaking 500 and even 600 BHP. This car is no slouch! And if you really want that GTR power, don't forget this car was designed for the RB26DETT and it can be easily fitted.

Spares and upgraded parts are easily sourced, although this was not always the case. However owners are still expected to pay the "Skyline Tax" on any parts. So although it is more tunable, the Skyline often looses to the 200SX when it (literally) comes to crunch time.
